Assistant coach of the Black Stars, George Boateng has opened up on the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

According to him, although the national team could not progress to the knockout stage of the tournament in Qatar, the team did well.

Opening up on the tournament, the coach said the camping in Abu Dhabi before the tournament started was a huge morale booster for the Black Stars.

“As coaching staff when we look back there’s no way we would say we missed out on something. I think going to Abu Dhabi as part of the preparations for the World Cup was excellent.

“The friendly against Switzerland was good and also the victory and the way we played gave the team a morale boost. We had a very good planning and organisation,” coach George Boateng told 3Sports in an interview.

At the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Ghana beat South Korea and lost to Portugal and Uruguay.

With just three points at the end of the group stages, the Black Stars could not advance to the Round of 16.
