Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has announced the association's will invest an amount of GHS300,000 to support the payment of referees in regional matches.

The statement was made during the GFA 29th Ordinary Congress on Monday, July 10, 2023, at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Sciences and Technology (KNUST).

Speaking at congress, Okraku affirmed his commitment to developing Ghana football, hence the decision to allocate such amount to alleviate the burden on clubs for referee fees.

"We will invest GHS300,000 to help in the payment of referee fees in regions. Clubs don't have to take the burden alone," Okraku stated.

Meanwhile, Okraku has insisted he has no interested to destroy Ghana football as claimed by some Ghanaians.

"I'm not interested in destroying the brand, Ghana football. If indeed you love Ghana football, you should be interested in building the brand and not being destroyed. When we took over, this brand was badly damaged," Okraku asserted.

The Congress, held at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), provided a platform for discussions on key topics, including upcoming elections and proposals for increased nomination fees.
