Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey has refused to give up on the Ghana Premier League after draw against Legon Cities.
The Porcupine Warriors have now move to the 6th position on the league table after failing to pick victory over Legon Cities.
The Royals held Kotoko to a 1-1 stalemate at the El- Wak Stadium in matchday 24 of the Ghana Premier League.
The first half didn’t produce the free flowing football many expected but the Porcupines took the lead on 17 minutes. They were awarded a penalty and up stepped skipper Richard Boadu to send the Cities goalie the wrong way.
After recess, Alex Aso climbed off the bench to restored parity for the Royals with a brilliant finish in the 70th minute which was enough to salvage a point for his side.
After the game, Lamptey, who emerged as the Man of the Match in the encounter expressed optimism about his side Ghana Premier League title chances.
“I will urge our fans not to be discouraged. They should keep supporting us and I am confident we will defend the title” he said.
The Porcupine Warriors will host Real Tamale United in matchday 25 of the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Stadium this weekend.
