Crystal Palace striker, Jordan Ayew says their aim is to finish as high as possible in the ongoing Premier League season.

The Eagles almost suffered relegation from the topflight until the arrival of Roy Hodgson after Patrick Viera was sacked after a poor run of results.

Palace currently sit 9th on the summit with 12 points after eight games played.

Jordan Ayew, who scored four goals last season says he does not have any personal target but remains more interested in the team's success.

Revealing their ambition for the season, the 30-year-old says they are aiming to finish the campaign as high as possible.

“I don’t really set myself many objectives,” he told the Palace media. “I just want to keep being consistent and keep on performing. After that, the rest will follow.

“As a team at Crystal Palace, we are humble. We know our qualities. We know our strengths, and we know what we can do. We have a good team and a good squad.

“We go into each game with a lot of expectations, and we are always hopeful we can perform very well. You can’t really control the result, but the most important thing is that we keep on performing well and keep that consistency.

“We want to finish as high in the Premier League as possible. We relish every game. It’s a blessing playing in the Premier League, and when you do, you have to enjoy every second you’re on the pitch," he added.

Palace will be hosted by Newcastle United at St. James' Park on Saturday.
