League leaders FC Samartex suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The match, which took place at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, saw the hosts take an early lead and hold on to it, marking Samartex's second consecutive loss in the league.
Joseph Kinful scored the decisive goal just three minutes into the game, capitalizing on a slow start from Samartex. Despite efforts to equalize, the visitors were unable to find the back of the net, leaving Bechem United to claim all three points.
Speaking after the match, Samartex coach Nurudeen Amadu admitted that his team started the game slowly.
"I think we didn't get our usual rhythm first half we look very sluggish very slow second half we came back strongly we were down so we need to go all out and equalize," he said. "We had inexperience and a few individual errors we have no excuse but to recover," he added.
This defeat comes on the heels of Samartex's 1-0 loss to Nations FC at home last week
