Former Ghana defender John Paintsil has voiced his disapproval of the practice of attacking individuals within Ghanaian football when discussing related matters.

Paintsil emphasized the importance of separating discussions about the sport from personal attacks on authority figures.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has come under intense criticism from the public following the disappointing performance of the Black Meteors in the 2023 U23 AFCON held in Morocco.

This is just one example of the national teams' recent failures at major tournaments.

During an appearance on Asempa FM, Paintsil shared his perspective, stating that attacking someone's personality is fundamentally wrong.

He believes that discussions surrounding the sport should focus solely on the game itself, without resorting to personal attacks.

"Attacking someone's personality is wrong. When we are talking about the game, our focus should be on the game devoid of personal attacks. It's wrong.

"I'm a football person, and I'm deeply involved in the game, running my academy to the best of my ability."
