Team doctor of the Black Stars, Dr. Prince Pambo has provided an update on the injury of Ghana defender Gideon Mensah.
On Tuesday, June 13, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in an official communique announced that the left-back has been ruled out of the game against Madagascar next weekend.
According to Dr. Prince Pambo, this is to ensure Gideon Mensah does not aggravate a knee injury he is carrying.
“Gideon picked up a knee injury during the season but his club managed him conservatively until the end of the season. Upon assessment in camp on Monday, we decided to excuse him from this game in order not to aggravate the injury,” the Black Stars Team medical head said as quoted on the website of the GFA.
Dr. Prince Pambo continued, “We expect him to have enough rest during the break to be able to recover on time for next season.”
Ghana takes on Madagascar on Sunday, June 18, in Antananarivo. The game is scheduled to kick off at 17:00gmt.
