Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has opened up on the club’s good relationship with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
According to him, it is why the club was able to attach physio, Simon Murphy, to Thomas Partey when he travelled to Ghana for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification matches against Angola.
Speaking to the press ahead of the game against Leeds United, Mikel Arteta said “It’s something we’ve done in the past. We have a really good relationship with the Ghanaian federation, and we have to manage and look after our players.”
He further stressed that the relationship Arsenal has with the Ghana FA works in the interest of both parties.
“They’ve been really positive about it as well, we tried to help as much as possible - I think it works both ways. Obviously, he wasn’t fit enough to play in the second game but hopefully he’s going to be back for the weekend,” Mikel Arteta added in his pre-match press conference.
Arsenal hosts Leed United on Saturday, April 1. The game will kick off at 2 pm at the Emirates Stadium.
