The spokesperson of the Asante Kotoko board, Kwadwo Boateng Genfi has disclosed that there is no current plan to sack the club’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nana Yaw Amponsah.
This comes on the back of the growing calls for the renowned football administrator to be fired.
Despite the tension building up, Kwadwo Boateng Genfi says the board of Asante Kotoko after a meeting has decided to back Nana Yaw Amponsah for now.
“Whatever it is, Nana Yaw Amponsah will not be sacked now. We will not sack him. Although I cannot disclose what the board discussed I can confidently confirm that he will not be sacked. For him to be sacked or continue after his term, I will say we will cross the bridge when we get there,” Kwadwo Boateng Genfi told Ghanasportspage.com.
In the last few weeks, there have been reports of a misunderstanding between Nana Yaw Amponsah and some of the board of the club.
This has led to speculations that the Kotoko CEO will be fired.
