New Edubiase United president, Abdul Salam Yakubu has described the current leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as greedy due to how players earn call-ups to the various national teams.
The outspoken football administrator speaking to Graphic Sports in an interview said it is about time the GFA led by Kurt Okraku is overhauled due to the serious decline of football in the country.
He also described some of the leaders of the FA as greedy for trading the selection of the right players to the national teams with their personal gains to the detriment of the nation’s fortunes.
“What I’ve noticed is that our leaders now are very greedy," he said. "They don’t even choose the right players for the national teams but those they have an interest in.
"Only those they have interest get to play in the national team,” he alleged.
Abdul Salam Yakubu also appealed that the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) must be voted out in the upcoming election scheduled for October.
Meanwhile, Kurt Okraku addressing delegates at the 29th Ordinary Congress in Kumasi on Monday at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) confirmed his intention to seek re-election.
