Women in Afghanistan have been urged to burn their sporting kits and take precautions by hiding their sporting history. The new Taliban government recently fired the current Afghanistan cricket CEO, and he was replaced by one of their choosing. More recently, a Taliban Spokesman said that they intended to ban women’s sports. Now cricket Australia has reportedly said that they would cancel upcoming test match scheduled against the Afghanistan men’s team, if the ban on women’s cricket is implemented. Is it time to expel Afghanistan from ICC and test cricket, like South Africa’s expulsion during apartheid? Our panelists will weigh in on this question.
