The head coach of the Ghana U20 Girls team, Coach Yussif Basigi has named his squad for the 2023 WAFU B U20 Girls Cup.
The maiden edition of the tournament will kick off on Saturday, May 20, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
In a communique on the website of the Ghana FA on Wednesday, it confirmed that coach Yussif Basigi has named Stella Nyamekye as Captain of his team.
“Black Princesses Coach, Yussif Basigi has named Stella Nyamekye as Captain of the team ahead of the WAFU B U-20 Girls Cup of Nations in Kumasi,” parts of the communique said.
It added, “The Dreamz Ladies Midfielder will be assisted by Faith Ladies’ Maafia Nyame, Afi Amenyaku of Northern Ladies, and Abena Anoma Opoku of Ampem Darkoa Ladies.”
The WAFU B U-20 Girls Cup of Nations is scheduled from Saturday, May 20 – Saturday, June 3.
Ghana is in Group A and will battle with Benin and Ivory Coast.
