Former Ghana defender, Samuel Inkoon, has called on Ghanaians to support former teammate John Paintsil succeed as Black Stars coach and not scold him for his opinions prior to his appointment.
Ghanaians were very critical of the former Ghana international for comments he made on UTV saying that there is nothing wrong with Ghana football while many think the sport has declined to an all-time low.
Just few weeks after those comments, Paintsil was appointed a Black Stars assistant coach to Otto Addo, with people quick to make connections of his appointment to the comments he made.
“Like I said, you know, I'm just focusing on the national team and I think that I will not say anything bad against John Paintsil,” Inkoom told Joy Sports.
“I think that we all have to support him. That's the most important thing that we are looking for because when they bring glory, everybody will be happy.
“But I know there's a lot of, you know, bashing going on. I'm just begging Ghanaians that we should take it easy.”
