Former Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom has encouraged football legends to consider exploring alternative avenues instead of solely pursuing coaching after retiring from the game.
Speaking to 3 Sports in an interview, the Hearts of Oak right back expressed his belief that coaching may not be the right fit for every retired footballer.
He suggested that success on the field does not guarantee success as a coach, as coaching demands a distinct skill set and understanding of the game from a different perspective.
The former Basel man believes scouting and player management are things ex-players can take up after retirement.
"It is not every player who played football who can be a coach," he said.
"There are a lot of things in football that players can also do apart from coaching. It is not always that when you are a legend you are supposed to be a coach. No. you can do scouting, you can also learn player management and stuff.
