Former Ghana international Odartey Lamptey has disclosed that Salifu Ansah didn't just light up the field but brought an infectious liveliness to camp.

Speaking to Sienu TV, Odartey Lamptey, who graced the pitch with distinction for Ghana from 1991 to 1996, shared the secret behind the spirited atmosphere that often surrounded the national team during his tenure.

The magic of Ansah didn't merely unfold on match days; it permeated the very essence of the team, creating an environment where camaraderie flourished, and bonds were forged beyond the confines of the game. Lamptey, who hung up his boots in 2008, expressed that one of the aspects he misses most about his football days is the unique energy that Ansah brought to the camp.

"We have many I mean Salifu Ansah, Richard Narh also and a couple of them so camp is what I miss in football meeting each other cracking jokes and all that. After retiring in football that is what I really miss," reminisced Lamptey, who accumulated 38 appearances and scored eight goals for Ghana during his illustrious career.

On the players who did not like joking and were very serious in camp, Odartey said

"Armah Senegal is one, Stanley Abradey don't forget Sarfo Gyamfi too,"
