Patrick Amoako Sefa, the father of late footballer Raphael Dwamena, is urgently appealing to football authorities for assistance in bringing his son's remains back to Ghana.
Dwamena tragically lost his life on November 11th during a match between KF Egnatia and KF Partizani in the Albanian Superliga.
Dwamena, 28, died at the Kavaja hospital. He was on the pitch during the match between Egnatia and Partiznai at Rrogozhina when he fell unconscious in the 23rd minute.
He got first aid on the field from the players and medical personnel and was subsequently transferred to the hospital, but he died of a heart attack.
"When we heard the news it wasn't easy the whole family was very sad and crying but by God's grace we are still holding our faith," he told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com
"We have spoken to his wife and when we spoke she said there is no Ghana Embassy in Albania so they are making preparations to look for a flight to Turkey before we can bring the body.
"So now it has our turn to help and it will keep long I am appealing to the Ghana Football Association to help the family we wish to bring the body to Ghana and look at how we will all plan. What I will say is that Ghanaians should pray for us," he added.
