Premier League champions Manchester City have added Belgium international of Ghanaian descent Jeremy Doku to a shortlists of wingers the club is earmarking as a replacement for Riyard Mahrez, Footballghana.com can reveal.
Mahrez, who is the captain of the Algerian national team recently departed Manchester City to join Saudi Professional League club Al-Ahli.
However, Pep Guardiola is said to have penciled down two players who could replace Mahrez ahead of the new season.
According transfer expect, Fabrizio Romano, the Sky Blues will look to replace the skillful Algerian attacker, with either Michael Olise of Crystal palace or Jeremy Doku who plies his trade for Stade Rennes in France.
But Footballghana.com understands Doku is one of the priority names being considered by Manchester City.
The 21-year-old joined Rennes in 2020 and has since established himself as a key member of the squad.
His current contract with the Ligue 1 outfit is expected to elapse in the summer of 2025.
