Ghana international Fatawu Issahaku has had his holidays extended by his Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon following his involvement in the just-ended U23 AFCON tournament in Morocco.
The enterprising winger was part of the Black Meteors squad that represented Ghana at the AFCON tournament in the North African country, where Morocco emerged as champions at the end of the tournament.
Issahaku played all three games as the Black Meteors suffered early elimination at the tournament. The Ghana U23 team won one, lost one and drew one in the three games played in Group A.
Despite seeing his holidays extended, the former Steadfast FC and Dreams FC marksman has intensified training in the West African country.
Meanwhile, Sporting Lisbon coach Ruben Amorim is unsure as to the player’s role in the first team for the upcoming season.
The winger is expected to train with the academy when he returns to the European country for preseason.
