Ghana's head coach, Chris Hughton is wary of the threat posed by Central African Republic ahead of Thursday’s showdown.
Ahead of the final Group E encounter of the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, the experienced tactician faced the media in a pre-match press conference today.
Speaking at the presser, Coach Chris Hughton played down claims that the Central African Republic game would be easy.
According to him, football has improved on the continent and the Black Stars will face a tough test in the final AFCON qualifier.
Coach Chris Hughton says he will be relying on supporters to rally the Black Stars to secure victory tomorrow.
“There are no easy games in this group home or away. The level of African football has improved I think significantly over the years which means there are no easy games. We have to treat the opposition with respect but we are playing at home here in Kumasi in front of our own supporters and we hope that they can drive us to the victory that we want,” Coach Chris Hughton said.
The game between Ghana and the Central African Republic is scheduled to kick off at 4 p.m. on Thursday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
