Patric Pfeiffer, a central defender at SV Darmstadt for four years, will leave the club at the end of the season.
According to Bild, there are several offers from clubs in the Bundesliga. FSV Mainz 05 and FC Augsburg are among the clubs interested in signing the German-born Ghanaian defender.
Pfeiffer is aiming for an immediate permanent position with his new employer. He certainly would have had the chance to do so in Mainz under coach Bo Svensson, especially since his preferred back three offered the 23-year-old even more starting eleven options.
As early as January, Pfeiffer's adviser spoke of a trend without revealing the name of the club. A change to Mainz local rivals Eintracht Frankfurt, who are also interested, is “unlikely”.
Further traces lead to TSG Hoffenheim and 1. FC Köln but possibly also to other Bundesliga clubs. Bild also states that the right footer wants to make a decision in the next two weeks.
