Team Manager of the Black Stars, Ameenu Shardow says Otto Addo, who is the former head coach of the senior national team made mistakes at the World Cup but would have improved the team if he had continued.
Addo, who is a Borussia Dortmund talent coach was appointed as the interim manager following the dismissal of Milovan Rajevac after a poor Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign in Cameroon.
The 47-year-old steered Ghana to secure qualification against Nigeria after a hard-fought results.
At the Mundial, Ghana exited the group phase with three points after three games played.
The Black Stars recorded just a win against South Korea after a defeat against Portugal before a defeat against Uruguay in their final group game.
According to Shardow, Otto Addo made mistakes at the World Cup but he is convinced the Black Stars would have seen some improvement if the former Ghana international would have continued.
“We would have been better if Otto Addo stayed as Black Stars coach. I have always said that Otto Addo made mistakes at the World Cup because he hadn’t been there before," 3Sports.
“Otto Addo is someone who learns on the job and Ghana would have been better if he had continued with his job as Black Stars head coach”, he added.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) have named Chris Hughton, who served as a technical advisor under Otto Addo was named as his successor.
