The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo Prampram, Samuel Nartey George has argued that award-winning dancehall artist Stonebwoy should not be blamed for the poor state of the pitch at the Accra Sports Stadium after his Bhim Concert was held there.

The grass has been destroyed after the show with football not expected to be played at the Stadium for several weeks if not months.

Football fans who are not happy have been quick to blame Stonebwoy for hosting his show at the Stadium.

For Sam George, the people to blame for the destruction caused are the National Sports Authority (NSA).

According to him, the NSA as managers of stadia in the country are not using their brains.

He said the people at NSA should have protected the grass before giving out the stadium for the Bhim Concert or any other show.

“Concerts are held every off season at Wembley, Emirates, Old Trafford and other stadia. The managers there use their brains. Same cannot be said about the DG of the NSA who lied to Parliament earlier this year.

“I asked him about pitch covers which are used to protect the grass everywhere else when stadia are used for non-footballing events, and he stated under oath before the Public Accounts Committee that they have some and use them.

“None was used last Friday and shows that once again, the NSA DG has lied under oath. Not his first time. If you have any anger, it should be directed at him for failing to do the work yet collecting his salary for December,” Sam George said in a post shared on X.

The Ningo Prampram MP in his post said he will be waiting for NSA boss Prof. Peter Twumasi the next time he appears before the Public Accounts Committee and will question him on why his outfit is failing to use their brains.
