Serie A giants Napoli paid a touching tribute to the late Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu during their pre-season game against Turkish club Hatayspor.
Atsu, who tragically lost his life in an earthquake that struck Turkey in February this year, had previously played for Hatayspor and had scored the winning goal against Kasimpasa just hours before the disaster struck.
Napoli presented a customized jersey adorned with Atsu's name as a show of respect to the former player.
Despite the somber occasion, Napoli delivered an impressive performance, defeating Hatayspor with a remarkable 4-0 victory on Saturday.
Victor Osimhen and Giovani Simeone each contributed a brace to secure the win.
Atsu's body was discovered twelve days after the devastating disaster, which claimed the lives of over 40,000 people in Turkey and Syria.
Hatayspor also paid tribute to Atsu after his body was recovered from the rubble of the earthquake.
Atsu was laid to rest in his hometown of Ada.
