Reports in France are suggesting that Ligue 1 club AS Monaco is showing keen interest in securing the services of Mohammed Salisu, a highly promising Ghanaian defender.
With an eye for talent and a determination to strengthen their squad, Crystal Palace looks poised to make a significant move in their pursuit of Salisu, hoping to add his defensive prowess and immense potential to their ranks.
Monaco is in the market for a defender because Axel Disasi is set to move to a new club and loan player Malang Sarr has returned to Chelsea.
Salisu, 24, joined the Saints from Real Valladolid in the summer transfer window of 2020 and has since become a key player for the team.
Unfortunately, injuries this season has meant that he missed a lot of games.
Southampton was relegated to the Championship after their 2-0 defeat to Fulham.
Salisu made his Southampton debut on 11 February 2021, six months after signing for the club, playing the full 90 minutes and keeping a clean sheet in a 2–0 FA Cup away victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers as Danny Ings and Stuart Armstrong scored a goal each to send Southampton through to the quarter-finals of the competition.
He made 22 appearances and assisted one goal in the Premier League this season.
