Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton, says the game against Mexico was a good opportunity to test a new system.

Hughton deployed a 3-4-3 formation as Ghana suffered a 2-0 loss against the North Americans at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

It was the same formation he deployed against Liberia in a 3-1 win over Liberia in September.

Hughton revealed the injuries to various defenders means he had an opportunity to repeat the back three formation.

“We obviously have two World Cup games in November but this of course was good preparation going into to January,” he said.

“It was also an opportunity for me to look at a different system which I employed in the last the last friendly game and I think particularly as we knew we had some injuries particularly in the center half position so it was a good opportunity to play a new system.”

The Black Stars will next face the United States on Wednesday dawn at 12:30 A.M at the Geodis Park in Tennessee.
