Two Ghanaian players are currently in need of help in Lebanon as they are being held hostage by SAFA Sporting Club.

The two players include Samuel Ofori and Courage Pekuson. The duo travelled to Lebanon recently to sign a contract with the top-flight club in the country.

However, after landing in the country, the two players realised the contract they are being offered was exploitative.

After expressing unwillingness to sign the contract which had turned out to be a scam, both Samuel Ofori and Courage Pekuson have been held against their will by SAFA Sporting Club.

Samuel Ofori and Courage Pekuson previously played for Medeama SC and Ghana U23 respectively.

They are now trapped in Beirut after officials of the club seized their passports after they refused to sign a 'slave' contract.

Footballghana has learned that SAFA SC have also cancelled the return flights for the two players that will allow them to travel to their home country.

There are fears that the worst could happen to the two players who only travelled to play football.

With the help of International Agency, LLC, which represents the two players, a move has been initiated to report the matter to FIFA.

Meanwhile, sources report that the matter has been reported to Interpol for the outfit to help in the matter.

The players immediately need the help of the Ghana government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ghana Football Association to help bring both Samuel Ofori and Courage Pekuson to Ghana safe and sound.
