Asante Kotoko's interim coach Abdulai Gazale has conceded that the inconsistent performance of his team this season has dashed their hopes of retaining the Ghana Premier League title.
Speaking in a post-match interview after their loss to Great Olympics, Gazale expressed disappointment at the poor performance of his players and their uninspiring attitude in the away fixtures.
The Porcupine Warriors were beaten 2-0 by the Dade boys at the WAFA Park in Sogakope, leaving them in sixth place on the league table.
Gazale said it would be unfair to promise the fans the league title due to the team's current performance.
“Looking at the awful performance and attitude of the players, I wouldn't be fair to myself and the fans by promising them the league title.
“Because anytime we plan of securing points from our opponents at their home venue, we end up giving away the points. We can't continue to play like this and expect to finish on top of the league table.”
