Asante Kotoko’s midfield genius, Fabio Dos Santos Gama is set to leave the club to sign for Bahraini giants Muharraq Club.
As reported by footballghana last week, the Brazilian’s contract with Asante Kotoko has expired following the end of the 2021/22 football season.
Although he is said to have been offered a new contract by officials of the Ghanaian giants, the talented midfielder has decided that he wants a new challenge.
It can be recalled that he joined Asante Kotoko in 2020 on a free transfer and instantly became one of the key players for the team throughout his debut season.
Although injuries worried him in his second season, he managed to play a key role to help the Reds to win the Ghana Premier League title at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
Now back in Brazil for the off-season holidays, Fabio Gama according to sources has held positive talks with Bahraini giants Muharraq Club and is close to signing for the team.
If the deal goes through, he will leave Ghana having made 48 appearances for Asante Kotoko and scoring five goals.
Within that period, he assisted a number of goals and secured a Ghana Premier League winners medal as well.
