Jordan Ayew has praised Crystal Palace head coach, Roy Hodgson for putting him in positions that are comfortable for him to express himself.

The Ghana striker said this after winning Palace’s Player of the Month Award in August.

Ayew beat competition from Joachim Andersen, Eberechi Eze and Jefferson Lerma to win the accolade.

The 30-year-old was on hand to receive the trophy after bagging three assists in five games in all competitions this season.

Speaking in the interview, Ayew praised Crystal Palace's technical staff and singled out veteran head coach Hodgson for his role in the marked improvement in production for the frontman.

“It’s been a while, a very long time that I have brought in a trophy. Since Roy has come in, he’s been really good to me and obviously putting me into positions where I can express myself and where I feel more comfortable," he said.

"It gives me the freedom to express myself. That’s what you ask for as a player," he added.

Palace ranks seventh in the EPL standings after bagging two wins, a loss and a draw in four league games.

Jordan Ayew is expected to team up with the rest of his Black Stars teammates later today ahead of their game against the Central African Republic (CAR) in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
