Ghana forward Kwabena Owusu believes Ghanaian players abroad are unable to score goals because they do not learn as compared to the whites.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at Turkish second-tier side MKE Ankaragucu and made a good account of himself.

He scored 10 goals and provided 4 assists in 23 matches.

In an interview with Accra-based Original FM, Kwabena Owusu rated himself high as he believes it is not easy for an African player to score in foreign leagues.

“I will rate myself 9/10 because it is not easy for an African player to score goals abroad. Even Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah struggle before they score”

“It is not easy for Ghanaian players abroad to score; it is something that I have noticed. Harry Kane will get a chance and score but I don’t understand why we struggle to take our chances in games. I think the whites learn more than us”

Owusu has capped three times for the Black Stars after making his debut in 2019.

He part of the Black Stars squad that played at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt.

“Every coach has his player, maybe the performance I am putting up in recent times does not satisfy the technical team. So, I think this I time for me to focus and put in more effort to reach the level the coaches need. Maybe, I am not yet at the level they need, so it is up to me push harder and be there”

“So, I don’t there is an issue with my snub. Of course, am worried missing out on the squad for the qualifiers and no player will be happy when omitted. Sometimes I feel pain but I just have to let it go”
