Ghana international Alexander Djiku has confirmed consulting legendary Stephen Appiah before making a move to join Turkish giants, Fenerbache.
Djiku sealed a move to Fenerbache during the summer transfer window after ending his stay with Strasbourg in France following the expiration of his contract at the end of last season.
The former Ghana captain spent three seasons in Turkey with Fenerbache and made a good account of himself, winning the Turkish League title and FA Cup respectively in 2006.
And according to Djiku, he spoke with the former Black Stars skipper before joining Fenerbache.
"I had the opportunity to talk to Appiah before coming to Fenerbahçe. He gave me advice," Djiku told Tivibu Spor.
Djiku has established himself as a key cog to the Fenerbache, featuring in all eight games in the top-flight since his arrival.
