President of Cheetah Football Club, Abdul Hayye Yartey has disclosed that he is unable to open up on the reasons behind his decision to drop out of the chairmanship race for the Central Regional Football Association (CRFA).

According to him, all he can reveal is that the reasons are personal and also political.

“My decision to resign is political and personal, many are disappointed in my resignation, and I know the people of Central Region deserve better. They know I was the right man to help football in the region develop, and with my reason for resigning being personal, I wouldn’t want to reveal,” Abdul Hayye Yartey told Happy FM in an interview.

The Cheetah FC boss last month announced that he will no longer contest for chairman of the Central Regional Football Association.

It meant that the incumbent, Robert Duncan is going unopposed in the 2023 Elective Congress of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The Central Regional RFA Elective Congress is scheduled to take place on Friday, October 6, 2023, at the Amoanu Royal Hotel in Dunkwa on Offin.
