Ghana goalkeeper, Richard Ofori has indicated that although he wants to make the final Black Stars squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, his focus now is to give his best to his club, Orlando Pirates.
He argues that this is because he knows if he is not performing at the club level he will not earn a place in the Ghana squad.
“The most important thing is that I need to perform to my best at the club so that when they call you are ready. If you are not performing at your club then you go there, you are mentally weak. The world cup stage is the biggest.
“Every player's dream is to play in the world cup. At the moment, I'm thinking about what my club wants to achieve and to be successful. This is my motivation and objective,” Richard Ofori said in a media interview ahead of the Soweto derby.
The clash between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will be played on Saturday, October 29.
Kickoff is at 1:30 pm.
