Head coach of the Black Princesses of Ghana, Yussif Basigi has stated emphatically that he has no regret coaching women football as the current FA has made women football appealing in the country.
Basigi has almost spent his coaching career in women football, leading Hasaacas Ladies and the women national teams.
He is currently in France with the Black Princesses as they prepare for the upcoming Africa Games to be hosted by Ghana next month.
In an interview, Basigi expressed he has no regret coaching women football due to the current FA’s investment.
“This FA is phenomenal. They are doing wonderful things especially for women football. I don’t want to talk much because we’ve seen it, Ghanaians have seen it all and they should continue to do more because we were lacking behind but we are rocking shoulders with the men under this current FA” he said as reported by Wontumi FM.
“If you look at the incentives that we are getting and the capacity building that they have initiated, I am a beneficiary of it and other coaches have also benefited. Now, I have no regret for coaching women football. This is my 21-years of coaching women football and I have no regret at all because of what the FA is doing. Even if I was thinking of quitting women football I am now going to rekindle it because the current FA are doing massively well”
