President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has cautioned his opponents, saying he has in possession files that can destroy and defame them.

His comment comes after a Ghanaian whistleblower petitioned FIFA to investigate the GFA president for forgery and falsification, conflicts of interest, abuse of position, duty of loyalty and manipulation of football matches.

According to him, all these allegations are against FIFA’s code of ethics. The petitioner also called for the suspension of Okraku.

However, speaking at the 29th Ordinary Congress in Kumasi on Monday at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Mr Okraku said with his position, he holds documents that he can use to destroy his opponents.

“What we all forget is by virtue of where I sit, I hold files to everybody who has worked in the football ecosystem. I can use the same to defame and malign people, and most importantly tarnish the image of Ghana football," he said.

“But that is not the way and I would not do that,” he added.

Meanwhile, Congress has also approved the Ghc50,000 nomination fees for the FA’s presidential aspirants.

Kojo Yankah and former GFA vice president, George Afriyie have announced their bids to unseat Kurt Okraku as president.
