Ghana striker, Jordan Ayew says he is always ready to do his best for the team to succeed.
The 30-year-old despite his lack of goals for club and country has been a key figure for Palace for the past years.
Ayew’s tireless pressing, hassling and harrying were key factors in him becoming the Premier League’s most-fouled player (90 times) last season. He won the second-most duels (271) and enacted the second-most pressures (1,181) in the division – including the largest number in the middle third of the pitch (821).
The striker is currently leading the Premier League's most fouled player having fouled 23 times more than any player in the ongoing 2023/24 season.
Despite the incredible numbers, Ayew sees them not as praise, but as his responsibility.
“It’s something that’s part of my game,” he told the club website. "I’m an offensive player and I’m going to get fouled.
“I try to be a bit more direct in my game. I try to be efficient.
"Anywhere the manager wants me to play, I’ll do a job for my team, and try to do my best," he added.
Jordan Ayew has so far made 10 appearances for the Eagles in all competitions with three assists to his credit and will be hoping to improve when Palace travel to play Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Saturday, October 21.
