Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo, extended an open invitation to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), urging them to reach out whenever the need arises.
Akufo-Addo also emphasised his readiness to provide support whenever called upon by the GFA leadership.
The president’s offer came during the GFA’s visit to the Jubilee House earlier this week, ahead of the Black Stars’ participation in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
“As an avid football fan, I am very much aware of the challenges that confront us, as results have not been good in recent games. But you can count on me for the necessary support,” the President said.
“We have some very good talents scattered across the globe, so I don’t understand why we shouldn’t perform in tournaments.”
With a 42-year AFCON title drought, the Black Stars aim to clinch the title in Ivory Coast next year after last winning the trophy in 1982 in Libya.
