Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus and compatriot forward Bernard Tekpetey are set to go head-to-head in a UEFA Europa League qualiying playoff match later this month.
On Thursday, August 24th, Kudus' Ajax Amsterdam will face Tekpetey's Ludogorets Razgrad in the first leg of a two-game playoff, following Ludogorets' advancement to the second stage of qualification.
Ludogorets dominated Astana in the previous round, with a resounding 5-1 victory, securing a 6-3 aggregate triumph over the Kazakh team, largely thanks to Tekpetey's two goals during the match.
Having commenced the 2023-2024 season in exceptional form, the 25-year-old Tekpetey has already netted six goals in eight games across various competitions.
In the triumph against Astana, Tekpetey found the back of the net in the 25th and 50th minutes respectively.
Razgrad started the season with aspirations of securing a place in the UEFA Champions League, but their hopes were dashed after a defeat to Olimpija.
