Ghanaian international, Desmond Nketia has started pre-season with his new club, Academica de Coimbra ahead of the 2022/23 football season.
Following the expiration of his contract with Portuguese outfit SC Ideal at the end of last month, the talented youngster has joined the Spanish club as a reinforcement.
On Monday, July 11, 2022, Desmond Nketia was one of 25 players that commenced pre-season training at Académica.
The team being coached by manager Miguel Valença is stepping up training this week in hopes of building a strong side that will be able to compete very well when the new football season begins.
Besides Ghanaian forward Desmond Nketia, other notable players that took part in the pre-season training included goalkeepers Nuno Hidalgo, Luís Pedro, and Bernardo Santos.
For the defense, there was Diogo Costa, Diogo Amaro, Nivaldo, Marco Grilo, João Tiago, Bernardo Ferreira, Benny Silvano and Francisco Lopes.
Other midfielders and attacker present include Pepo, Vasco Gomes, David Teles, David Brás, Xavi Venâncio, Di Cardoso, João Pais, Diogo Ribeiro, Desmond Nketia, David Caiado, Hugo Seco and Diogo Machado.
