Ghanaian forward Benjamin Bernard Boateng netted a brace for Smouha SC in a seven-goal thriller on Sunday in the Egyptian Premier League.
The brace was the former Elmina Sharks striker sixth goal of the season when Smouha SC inflicted a 4-3 victory over El Dakhleya on home turf.
The 22-year-old was handed a starting role and lasted the entire duration as his side cruised to victory at the Alexandria Stadium.
Smouha SC shot into the lead through Hossam Hassan after just two minutes into the encounter at the Alexandria stadium.
Boateng added his sides second goal of the match in the 21st minutes but Allan Kyambadde pulled one back for the visitors in a space of three minutes to make it 2-1.
In the 33rd minute, the Ghanaian international scored his second goal to put Smouha in a 3-1 lead. Few minutes to recess, Sodiq Awujoola found the back of the net to make it 4-1 for the host.
After the break, Samir Fekri and Abdelaziz El Sayed scored from the spot as El Dakhleya suffered a 4-3 defeat at away.
Boateng has scored six goals in 22 appearances in the Egyptian top league this season. He is on loan from Al Ittihad Alexandria.
