English-born Ghanaian forward Danny Welbeck has poked at renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano after penning anew deal with Brighton and Hove Albion.
The former Manchester United and Arsenal striker recently signed a new two-year deal with Premier League side.
Welbeck joined Brighton from Watford and has worked to establish himself as a key player.
Since his arrival, the forward has made 53 appearances and scored 12 goals for Brighton since his arrival.
Romano has become infamous amongst Albion fans in recent months. Earlier this month, he claimed the Brighton had struck an agreement with Chelsea to sell Marc Cucurella for £52million.
But the club in a tweet denied the reports, "CLUB STATEMENT: MARC CUCURELLA. Contrary to inaccurate reports from numerous media outlets this evening, no agreement has been reached with any club to sell Marc Cucurella."
The Spaniard ended up joining the Blues for £55million, with £7million in add-ons.
However, Welbeck, who seems to have not forgotten the incident has poked at Romano saying, "I am now going to tweet here we go @FabrizioRomano."
