Ghanaian international, Kelvin Boateng will watch from his home in Slovenia when his Spartak Trnava side takes on Newtown A.F.C on Thursday night in Wales.

The two clubs are scheduled to lock horns today in a clash in the qualifiers for the group stage of the next edition of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Due to issues relating to Visa, Ghana’s Kelvin Boateng has not been able to travel to the United Kingdom for the game against the Welsh club.

He is just one of the five players of Spartak Trnava who have been ruled out of the game against Newtown A.F.C for the same issue after they were denied UK visas.

For team manager Michal Gašparík, the inconvenience which will be a big blow to his team is not something that he cannot understand.

"For me, it's incomprehensible that something like this happens and UEFA doesn't handle it better. If we had a more difficult opponent, or if the result of the first match was different, it could significantly change the chances of advancing. And that's a lot of money at stake.

"We have recorded, but it cuts into our other plans. We are not looking at this match, but at the next four matches, which we have every three or four days," Trnava manager Michal Gašparík shared ahead of the match.

Fortunately, the Slovakian side carries an advantage into the game today after winning the first leg 4-1.

The club must push to hold on to that lead to secure qualification to the next round of the playoffs.
