Austrian club LASK has confirmed that attacker Ibrahim Mustapha will miss the upcoming rounds of the Bundesliga championship group due to another ankle injury sustained during training.
Mustapha, who made a successful comeback last week in a friendly match against TSV 1860 Munich following an injury in Liverpool in November, has suffered another fracture in his left ankle, necessitating surgical intervention.
The former FK Radnički Sremska Mitrovica attacker had a complication-free rehabilitation after his initial injury, but an unfortunate trauma during training has sidelined him once again. Mustapha is expected to return to LASK at the start of the new season.
Radovan Vujanovic, CEO of Sports, expressed his disappointment at the recent injury, stating, "The recent injury is extremely bitter for us and, of course, for Ibrahim himself. However, he once again receives our full support, and we are absolutely convinced that he will succeed in fighting back once again."
The 23-year-old has played ten games and assisted one goal in the Austrian Bundesliga this season. His absence will undoubtedly be a setback for LASK as they prepare for the upcoming rounds of the championship group.
Despite this, the club remains optimistic about Mustapha's recovery and his ability to return to the field stronger than ever.
