Ghana trio of Salamatu Abdulai, Rebecca Atinga, and Cynthia Konlan Findib won the Malta Women’s FA Cup with their side Swieqi United beating Hibernians FC 2-1 in the final on Friday.

Konlan guarded the goalposts for Swieqi United, Rebecca was also in action for the entire game while Abdulai was not included in the squad for the game.

Swieqi United's captain, Theuma, made an impressive breakthrough on the 22nd minute when she capitalized on a mistake by Hibernians to unleash a remarkable volley that left goalkeeper Costantino stunned and unable to make a save.

Theuma came close to doubling Swieqi United's lead with an almost identical shot later in the first half, only to be denied by the crossbar, leaving Hibernians momentarily relieved.

However, Theuma's persistence paid off when she connected with a well-executed cross from Rebecca Atinga and slotted the ball past the outstretched Costantino, securing her team a crucial second goal.

Hibernians fought valiantly to mount a comeback, with Alessia Caschetto attempting to catch goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan off guard with a long-distance volley.

However, the talented Ghanaian shot-stopper showcased her skills, expertly denying Caschetto's effort and maintaining Swieqi United's lead.

In a dramatic turn of events, Hibernians managed to narrow the deficit during stoppage time. Espitia headed the ball into the net from close range after Martina Borg's initial strike struck the crossbar.

However, the late goal proved to be too little, too late for Hibernians, as the final whistle blew shortly after, sealing the victory for Swieqi United.
