Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi sees red in St Gallen’s defeat to Grasshopper in Switzerland

Ghana international Lawrence Ati-Zigi was given the marching orders in the Swiss top-flight on Saturday as St Gallen lost to Grasshopper.

The Black Stars goalkeeper was red carded in additional time of the game as his side suffered a 3-2 defeat at away.

At-Zigi was sent off in the 96th minute after delivering a violent kick on Grasshopper player Petar Pusic, for wasting time.

After just four games into the season, St Gallen have received three red cards in the Swiss top-flight.

Reacting to the incident, coach Peter Zeidler said, "I really did not see (the scene)", explained the coach of Saint-Gall at the microphone of blue Sports, before however acknowledging that his team "was not happy to be led" in the score.

“But you have to stay calm and serene. If it happened the way you explain it to me, it's inexcusable. But I would like to see the images again, what happened before, what happened after and obviously this gesture,” added Zeidler, who can only see the damage …
