President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has announced the establishment of the Ghana Football School, emphasizing its potential as a platform for former footballers to contribute to the development of the game.
During the launch of the project on Tuesday, May 16, Kurt expressed his belief that the school would provide a tremendous opportunity for ex-footballers to actively engage in the football ecosystem.
He stated, "The Ghana Football School will offer everybody the chance to get the right levels of skillset. And in speaking about this, this is the best opportunity and chance we can create for our ex-footballers who have a lot to offer than they are currently offering."
In a collaborative effort, the Football Association will partner with esteemed academic institutions, including UPSA, the University of Ghana, KNUST, GIMPA, and the China Europe Business School of Africa, to provide training programs that support the career pathways of Ghanaian legends beyond their playing days.
Through this initiative, the GFA aims to tap into the vast expertise and knowledge of former footballers for the advancement of football in Ghana.
“The Ghana Football School will be working with all the institutions to see how best we can support our legends to get themselves at the right levels that they so desire to have a career pathway beyond what they had on the football pitch,” he added.
