Ahead of their friendly match against Uganda on March 26, 2024, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is on the brink of unveiling a new head coach for the Black Stars, according to recent media reports.

The decision comes in the wake of the Black Stars' disappointing exit from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and the subsequent dismissal of former head coach Chris Hughton and his technical team. In response, the GFA swiftly formed a committee tasked with selecting a suitable candidate to lead the national team.

Following meticulous evaluations and deliberations, the committee has finalized its recommendations, which have been submitted to the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association for further review and consultation.

Reports suggest that a shortlist of potential candidates has been forwarded to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for consideration. Among these candidates, Otto Addo, a former Ghana coach and Dortmund trainer, stands out as a leading contender for the position.

The significant interest in the role is underscored by the fact that over 600 coaches applied, emphasizing the importance attached to coaching the Black Stars. The GFA is committed to selecting a coach with the necessary experience, expertise, and vision to propel the national team to success on the international stage.

With anticipation mounting within the football community, fans eagerly await the official announcement of the new head coach as the countdown to the friendly match against Uganda continues. This decision is poised to shape the future direction of Ghanaian football and rekindle hopes of achieving glory in future competitions.
