Ghana international Daniel Amartey is struggling for game time under new manager Dean Smith after missing sixth consecutive games at Leicester City.

The Black Stars defender was not in action on Monday when Liverpool inflicted a 3-0 win over the Foxes at the King Power Stadium.

A brace from Curtis Jones and Alexander Arnold's strike ensured Liverpool cruise to a comfortable victory at the away.

Amartey has endured an inconsistent campaign for Leicester City who are battling against relegation in the English Premier League.

The 28-year-old has missed his outfit last six games, with his last appearance coming against Bournemouth on April 8, 2023.

The defender watched from the bench against Manchester City, Wolves, Leeds United, Everton, Fulham and Liverpool.

He has featured 20 times out of 36 games in the English top-flight this season.

Amartey’s current contract with Leicester City will elapse at the end of the 2022/23 season.

It is unknown whether the Black Stars defender will continue his trade with the 2016 Premier League winners or not.
