Ghana international Baba Rahman is set to join Greek giants PAOK on a free transfer, Footballghana.com can report.

The Black Stars defender is expected to sign a two-year deal with the Greek club as his contract with Chelsea is set to be terminated.

Rahman, known for his prowess as a left-back, initially joined Chelsea in 2015 from German side Augsburg. The transfer fee remains undisclosed, although reports suggest it amounted to an initial £14 million, with the potential to rise to almost £22 million.

Despite the initial promise, the talented defender has had limited opportunities to showcase his skills at Stamford Bridge, featuring in just one season for the Blues.

The Black Stars defender has had several loan spells since joining the Premier League powerhouse, having failed to break into the team.

Rahman’s current contract will run out in the summer of 2024 but the Premier League club has decided to part ways with the Ghanaian defender this summer on mutual consent.

The defender spent last season on loan at Championship club, Reading who suffered demotion to the League One at the end of the season.
