Veteran sports journalist, Joe Lartey Snr, has offered advice to the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), urging them to prioritize unity and transparency in the governance of football.
The current administration, led by Kurt Okraku, has faced criticism for allegedly favoring family and friends in their management of Ghana's football affairs.
In a recent interview with Joy Sports, Joe Lartey Snr, a respected former journalist with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), expressed concerns about the negative impact of politics and financial interests on the growth of the sport in the country.
He emphasized the need for the GFA leadership to address these issues and focus on the betterment of Ghanaian football.
“They should clean their heads,” he said.
“Sooner than later, I intend to visit the president of Ghana football, Kurt Okraku. I want to have a little chat with him and share the little experience that I have with him. If he takes, fine, if he doesn’t, he is in charge,” he added.
“They [the leadership of the FA] should remove prejudice, they should remove hatred, they should remove unnecessary competition; anything negative should be out of their heads.”
